About Edinburgh GP

Edinburgh GP is a fully independent private general practice offering accessible and personalised medical care in the heart of the city. The clinic is located on the corner of Randolph Place and combines Georgian architecture with modern, spacious interiors designed to create a calm and welcoming environment. Patients are greeted by Practice Manager Kirsty Wales and the reception team, with the clinic’s contemporary waiting area providing space to relax before an appointment.

The practice provides in-person consultations in state-of-the-art consultation rooms, supported by dedicated treatment rooms for specialist procedures. Patients can also choose to see their doctor by video, telephone, at home, or in their workplace, ensuring flexibility around individual needs and schedules.

Edinburgh GP places strong emphasis on continuity of care. The team is intentionally small, enabling patients to develop ongoing relationships with their preferred clinician. At the same time, the clinic’s systems and processes ensure consistent, safe and high-quality care across the team whenever a patient’s usual GP is unavailable.

Although the practice values the continuity and personal approach traditionally associated with the “old-fashioned GP”, it also integrates modern innovation into daily practice. The clinicians adopt new technologies and evidence-based treatments where these improve the patient experience or enhance the quality of care. Innovations are selected to support, rather than replace, the personalised interaction between doctor and patient.

As an independently owned and operated clinic, Edinburgh GP has no affiliations with large healthcare providers or secondary care organisations. This independence allows clinicians to refer patients to the most appropriate specialists and services based solely on clinical need.

The practice operates with a commitment to honesty and integrity, providing evidence-based guidance and ensuring that patients receive investigations and treatments that are clinically justified. Cost-effectiveness and value for money are central considerations, supported by efficient systems and a streamlined infrastructure designed to minimise unnecessary costs.

Accessibility is a priority for Edinburgh GP. The clinic aims to offer same-day face-to-face appointments during the working week and continues to expand availability as demand grows, including into evenings and weekends. The team’s objective is to provide responsive, flexible healthcare with minimal waiting times, ensuring that patients receive timely medical attention when they need it most.

Went to get a full MOT as it's impossible to get any quality time with my NHS GP. Had also had quite a few problems over the past year so wanted reassurance that everything was going int he right direction plus advice on how to keep improving. This was an excellent experience and I got exactly what I needed.
