Miss Fiona Hamlin

Miss Fiona Hamlin is an HCPC Registered Advanced Dietitian with over 13 years of clinical experience, currently working as an Advanced Dietitian within a North East NHS Mental Health Trust. She has played an active role in the development and establishment of eating disorder services in the North East, contributing to the delivery of specialist, evidence‑based care.

Fiona works with individuals across a wide range of conditions, including eating disorders and disordered eating (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, food phobias and diabulimia), neurodivergence‑related dietary needs (including ASD and ADHD), weight management, malnutrition, digestive conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and menopause.

Her passion is to support clients in developing a more peaceful, flexible, and free relationship with food. Fiona firmly believes that you are the expert in you. She sees her role as a guide and ally — often describing herself as a dolphin, swimming alongside you, offering support, encouragement, and direction as you move through your individual journey towards improved health and wellbeing.

An advocate of evidence‑based nutrition science, Fiona provides reliable, up‑to‑date nutritional knowledge while working collaboratively with clients (and partners or family members if preferred). Her approach is compassionate, non‑judgemental, and tailored, ensuring advice is practical, realistic, and sustainable, rather than restrictive or overwhelming.

Fiona is a member of the British Dietetic Association and its Mental Health Group, reflecting her specialist interest in the intersection between nutrition and mental health.
