Dr Hassan Kapadia

Dr Hassan Kapadia is an experienced Psychiatric Consultant who specialises in Perinatal Psychiatry. He provides thorough assessment and treatment to women suffering from mental health problems during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period. He also provides support for women who have experienced mental illness in the past and would like help remaining well during pregnancy and after delivery, including making decisions about medications to take while planning a pregnancy, during pregnancy, or while breastfeeding.

Dr Kapadia has a wealth of experience in psychiatric assessment and management, with a particular focus on perinatal psychiatry, medical psychotherapy and women's mental health. His ability to integrate psychological understanding into his approach means that he is able to effectively support patients through their difficulties.

He completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Birmingham in 2003, followed by postgraduate psychiatry training in the West Midlands. Following his specialist training, he quickly attained the postgraduate qualification of Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists by examination, and later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Therapy from Oxford University.

Dr Kapadia is an expert in treating patients with anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, depressive disorder (particularly postnatal depression), bipolar disorder (including postpartum psychosis), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). He has had many successes in helping people overcome mental health challenges and lead happier, healthier lives.
