About Matthew Allsop

Matthew Allsop is an experienced Audiologist and Partner at Harley Street Hearing & Musicians’ Hearing Services. He completed his training at The University of Manchester, studying under leading UK experts in Human Communication and Deafness. Since beginning his audiology career in 2008, he has worked extensively across both the NHS and private sectors, gaining valuable experience alongside leading audiovestibular physicians and ENT surgeons in London.

Matthew’s clinical practice encompasses both adult and paediatric audiology. He has held roles within the NHS and managed the UK’s flagship clinic for a globally recognised private audiology provider, delivering comprehensive hearing and hearing aid assessments. He has a particular focus on tailoring hearing aid technology to suit both the diagnostic needs and the lifestyle requirements of each patient.

As Operations Director at Harley Street Hearing, he leads a team of audiologists, overseeing service delivery and clinical standards across the practice. His leadership is centred on maintaining Harley Street Hearing’s position as a leading independent provider in the audiology field.

Matthew has a special interest in musicians’ hearing protection and works with professionals across the music industry to provide tailored solutions. He also specialises in advanced diagnostic audiology, adult rehabilitation, and Lyric extended-wear hearing aids. He is an expert in microsuction wax removal and is committed to incorporating the latest advancements in hearing aid technology into clinical care.

In addition to his clinical role, Matthew creates educational content for Hearing Tracker on YouTube, an independent platform for hearing aid users. His channel has over 70,000 subscribers and features reviews and discussions on the latest developments in hearing aid technology. Check out his videos here: www.youtube.com/hearingtracker

I have always felt Matthew to be most encouraging, that my hearing issues were really important to him and that the best possible hearing solution will be within reach with his help. Through watching his numerous videos, even before visiting, I felt like I knew Matthew and within minutes of our first meeting I felt the most positive connection I have had with any audiologist I have met.

Matthew was recommended to me by my lecturer in the opera class at City Lit. She was a patient of his. I’ve seen Matthew since 2023. I’m very impressed with him. He takes time to explain the reduction in hearing and the cause. He recommends the best hearing aids for me individually. ( The friends who also attend seem to have different aids according to their individual needs) He is patient, understanding, professional and kind. I see him annually for a rigorous checkup when my hearing is completely reviewed. He organises his work so that I have constant support. If problems arise with my hearing aids, Matthew suggests I contact his department, and I get advice either by phone or in person in the department.

Matthew is excellent in all respects. Extremely knowledgeable & very keen to ensure that your prescription is tailored as closely as it possibly can be, to your individual requirements. He responds quickly to any issues, or questions I might have & I have no hesitation in recommending him very highly.

As someone who had not had a hearing test before and was new to the concept of hearing aids Matthew was exceptionally patient and knowledgeable making sure l understood every step of the process. Nothing was too much trouble even helped with the app on my mobile phone. My recent visit was my first annual review, Matthew checked the health of my ears and did a full hearing test we discussed the results, he cleaned my hearing aids(they looked like new) reset my phone app. couldn't be happier with the device.

Immensely enjoyable, knowledgeable, professional and kind. New hearing aids are great, as is Matthew's assurance that they come with help as needed and regular checking, by him and his team included in the purchase price!
