Mr Andrew R Armitage is an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Their basic medical training took place at St Thomas' Hospital in London. As a junior doctor, they worked for several years in Oxford before joining the South East Thames Orthopaedic Rotation. They undertook a sports medicine fellowship in Perth, Western Australia. Mr Armitage was appointed Orthopaedic Consultant with a specialist interest in knee surgery at Eastbourne District General Hospital. They provide both an arthroplasty (joint replacement) service as well as a soft tissue/sports service. Mr Armitage performs half knee replacements and full knee replacements.
Mr Armitage also carries out a significant number of revision replacements for patients. They perform simple arthroscopy and meniscectomy as well as ligament reconstruction (primarily the anterior cruciate ligament) and soft tissue balancing operations such as patella stabilisation and re-alignment procedures.
They are a member of various knee groups and societies and is involved in local research regarding knee surgery.
