About Mr Daniel Dowen
Mr. Daniel Dowen is a highly skilled Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with expertise in hip and knee replacement surgery, including complex and revision procedures. He also specialises in keyhole knee surgery and is actively involved in general orthopaedic trauma surgery in his NHS practice at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
Mr. Dowen completed his medical training at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2005, and went on to pursue surgical training in the same region. To further develop his skills and knowledge, he completed a year-long fellowship in lower limb joint replacement in Auckland, New Zealand.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Dowen holds a BSc degree in biomedical sciences from the University of Leeds, which he completed in 2000. My experience was very good I left feeling I have had answers to my knee problem of which I was worried about after having my knee replacement 6 yesterday ago. I still have the problems but knowing it is normal my mind is at ease.

Visited Mr Dowen about my right knee issue, after he examined my knee he requested a x-ray, within minutes I was escorted into the radiation dept and had x-rays on all angles of my right knee, went and sat back in the waiting area for 5 minutes and then went back to see mr Dowen, his explanation was excellent and he gave me sound advise on how to manage my problem knee.
Chose Mr Dowen as he did my original operation and after an equine mishap decided to see him again for reassurance and any next steps. Fantastic experience, feel reassured. Everything explained clearly. Very professional and a thoroughly nice man
