About Mr Paul Meredith
Mr. Paul Meredith is a highly skilled Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon, specialising in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal, and Orbital Surgery.
Graduating with distinction in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cambridge in 2010, Mr. Meredith received multiple academic prizes in recognition of his excellence. He completed his junior doctor training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital before undertaking seven years of postgraduate Ophthalmic Specialist Training along the south coast of England, including an advanced specialist year in Oculoplastics in Portsmouth. Further refining his expertise, he completed two internationally recognised advanced fellowships in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal, and Orbital Surgery at Cardiff and Manchester, before taking up his consultant role at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr. Meredith is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and an active member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society. His dedication to training the next generation of surgeons is evident through his role as Ophthalmology Tutor at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, his involvement in running the Newcastle Oculoplastic Fellowship, and his teaching contributions as part of the Royal College of Ophthalmology Surgical Skills Faculty. He also serves as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Passionate about research, Mr. Meredith has published multiple papers and received several research awards. He is currently Principal Investigator for clinical trials investigating novel monoclonal antibody treatments for Thyroid Eye Disease, contributing to innovative advancements in patient care.
