Dr. Sam Barke

Dr Barke has provided excellent medical advice and care for my eldest Son at Harrow School. My son has suffered three significant injuries this season, a ripped hip flexor, a bad concussion and a stress fracture of the back. For each injury Dr Barke has been very clear in his medical analysis, has taken time to correctly assess each procedure, has provided clear, nurturing and precise advise to my son which has calmed him and then provided a very clear pathway back to fitness via himself and the school physios. In my discussions with Dr Barke he has listened intently, taken on board opinions and historical information and then applied it very clearly to medical solutions available. I have been very impressed with him and his management of the team and have absolute confidence in him.

Our visit was excellent. Dr Barke was thorough, attentive and explained everything clearly. He organised the next steps straight away, including an MRI scan and even provided preliminary results on the same day! We felt informed and confident about the plan moving forward.

We have sought a second opinion regarding my son’s knee injury.

Great care! My injury was missed in A&E but picked up by Dr Barke straight away. He arranged for me to see a specialist sports knee surgeon within a few days and I’m now recovering from surgery. Dr Barke has checked in regularly which has been hugely reassuring and appreciated.

I’m so grateful to Dr Barke! I suffered a concussion 3 months ago and have had ongoing symptoms since. I have had multiple visits to my GP and to hospital including scans and all doctors have told me that there is nothing that can be done and I just need to rest and wait to get better! My dad researched specialists and found Dr Barke. He took the time to listen to my story, examined me thoroughly and quickly identified that there were ongoing issues with my neck and balance which was likely causing all my symptoms. He gave very clear advice and referred me to specialist rehab. I literally walked out feeling better and within a week was 50% improved. I couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend. I just wish I had seen him earlier.

Our son has had several consultations with Dr Barke, and his care and professionalism both in the appointments but also while helping us navigate the health care system have been truly outstanding.

Dr Sam is always the best at sorting out pretty much anything. Awesome.

Response to sports injuries is : immediate diagnosis and off to nearest best hospital/Consultant for further injury assessment when deemed necessary for confirmation. Follow up and recommendation for further investigations to double ensure, and precaution for more serious also top class.
