Dr. Sudhakar George

Dr. Sudhakar George is a Consultant Interventional and Structural Cardiologist at University Hospitals Birmingham. He graduated from Cambridge University and settled in Birmingham after working in Cambridge, Bristol, Manchester, and Brighton. Dr. George completed a research MD in structural cardiology at the University of Sussex before undertaking subspecialty training in interventional cardiology within the West Midlands Deanery. He further refined his expertise through a prestigious BCIS international fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Green Lane Unit in Auckland, New Zealand.

Dr. George's practice encompasses all aspects of adult cardiology, including the management of breathlessness, chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, and collapse. He has a particular interest in cardiac catheterisation and angioplasty, employing techniques such as intravascular imaging and pressure wire assessment. His work also involves complex structural procedures, including the closure of post-infarction ventricular septal defects.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. George is actively engaged in research and plays a significant role in training future cardiologists. He also holds an Associate Lectureship at the University of Birmingham. Outside of work, he enjoys sports, particularly football and running, and values time spent with his wife and children.
