Mr Robert (Bob) Carter is professional, kind, and communicative with patients. Patients report excellent care and a seamless experience during procedures such as Achilles tendon repair, ankle fracture treatment, and various foot surgeries. He gives clear explanations for complicated diagnoses and treatment options. His specialist expertise covers common foot pain and diverse foot and ankle surgery needs.
Mr Carter was carrying out corrective surgery following Achilles tendon debridement surgery another surgeon carried which was unsuccessful and left me unable to walk properly. Mr Carter’s approach was completely different to the first surgeon. He analysed the MRI scans in front of me, talked me through the procedure and best options and how to approach my recovery to get the best results. He was very reassuring particularly given the issues I had with the first operation. I am now fully back running and am now able to complete longer distances than I could for at least 1 year pre first operation.
There’s genuinely no words to describe how grateful I am to have had Bob as my foot surgeon. He is an incredibly skilled foot & ankle surgeon with a very keen eye for detail. I’ve had previous operations on my foot which all failed that made revision surgery even more difficult to perform. Bob kindly agreed to revision surgery as he could see how much pain I was in, and he performed the surgery in January. 4 months post surgery and I am back to long walks with my dog, back to work, and back to an active lifestyle. If there was a Nobel prize for foot & ankle surgery then Bob would be the recipient of it every time. Thank you again for everything you’ve done for me!
Mr Carter operated on my foot in January, I was not looking forward to the whole experience in terms of recovery and discomfort but Mr Carter was amazing. I am now back to almost full recovery. He was very professional and knowledgeable and the whole experience was incredibly positive
Early stages but I mainly chose this consultant because of his availability only to have a three week wait until the first available follow up appointment which is a bit gmfristrating.

If you could please email me on the address I gave you at the consultation. admin@carterfootandankle.co.uk I am on leave for 1 week only and you will not need to wait for 3 weeks to book an appointment. We can also do a zoom or video appointment this week. Kind regards.
Very humble and caring personality Best advice given to us

I had Achilles tendon repair surgery with Dr Carter and have been very grateful for his care and professionalism throughout my recovery. He takes the time to listen, explain things clearly, and makes you feel confident in the treatment plan. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an experienced and supportive orthopaedic surgeon.
All of my appointments with Mr Carter over the past 15 months have been great. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is a superb surgeon and communicates very well. I feel like I'm in really good hands with Mr Carter and I wouldn't want anyone else dealing with my foot issues. I feel very lucky to have found him.
Mr Carter is a highly skilled foot and ankle surgeon who regularly treats elite sports players. I would highly recommend him for all foot and ankle conditions.
