About Dr Peysh Patel
Dr Patel is a Consultant Cardiologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, a quaternary referral centre and one of the largest teaching sites in England.
He graduated from Cambridge University with a Masters in Natural Sciences and subinternship at Harvard University. His postgraduate training was predominantly in Leeds with additional observerships at Wythenshawe and Royal Papworth Hospitals and a peri-CCT fellowship in complex devices.
He manages all aspects of adult cardiology including palpitations, breathlessness, chest pain and dizziness. His specific expertise is in rhythm management, cardiac devices (pacemaker/defibrillator/CRT with >1000 implants), heart failure and preventive cardiology (management of traditional risk factors such as hypertension and raised cholesterol).
Dr Patel has a distinguished academic background with a PhD in Medicine (funded by British Heart Foundation), PGC in Clinical Education (with Distinction) and BSE accreditation in Echocardiography (2016 and 2021). He also has international board accreditation in cardiac devices (CCDS). Dr Patel has a very calming manner, very informative and easy to approach. everything he has done for me so far has been outstanding
It was reassuring that Dr Patel is a well qualified and experienced physician. He arranged the necessary tests to confirm a diagnosis and from there decided on suitable medication. He communicated this with my GP, who provided the prescriptions that Dr Patel recommended. The process of diagnosis and treatment took place in a short space of time in Harborne Hospital.
Dr Patel listened actively to my questions and responded in detail, explaining in a way that was easy to understand. He displayed a very good knowledge of my case and together with his expert knowledge of his speciality this was reassuring. He is always truly professional in the way he conducts his consultations and I have no hesitation in recommending him to others.
Dr Patel was very polite, engaging and thorough in his explanations and eager to answer any of my concerns. He explained that he had read through my notes, prior to my appointment, so was familar with my ( fairly extensive) medical background. He was very clear in his assessment of my condition and explained fully what he felt was the best way forward. I felt listened to and respected and clearly understood everything I was told.
Dr Patel was very professional friendly and reassuring. He explained outcomes and next steps in simple terms. I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family should the need arise.
Excellent doctor but a bit pompous at times, maybe because he is so young.
Dr Patel was extremely professional, yet approachable, considerate and understanding. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
